Sustainable mobility is entering a new era with Solar Flooring, a pioneering technology that transforms solar panels into pavement and promises to change the way we produce and use energy.
An idea born in Spain
The Seville-based startup Solum, founded in 2019, developed an innovative solution that converts conventional photovoltaic panels into solar pavements.
By combining this technology with electric mobility, it created Helios, a 100% sustainable solar parking and charging station for light electric vehicles, such as scooters, kick scooters and bicycles.
Arena: the solar pavement that generates energy
Arena is a pavement made of high-performance photovoltaic cells, with efficiency similar to that of a traditional solar module.
Designed for outdoor areas, such as car parks, cycle paths, pavements, squares and urban spaces, this pavement:
- Can be walked on by pedestrians;
- Has a non-slip surface that can regenerate in case of damage;
- Offers greater resistance than concrete;
- Provides a service life of up to 20 years.
Beyond its functional role, Arena contributes to the aesthetic integration of solar energy into urban environments, turning everyday spaces into sources of clean energy.
Modular, portable and durable
Modular
The pavement is made up of four-tile modules, allowing installation to adapt to different spaces.
Portable
It can be installed or removed in a single day, without construction work and while preserving the existing pavement.
Robust
With greater resistance than concrete, it can withstand loads, impacts and weather conditions while maintaining performance for two decades.
Low maintenance
Thanks to its hydrophobic properties, it only requires regular cleaning with water and soap, like any other urban pavement.
Helios: the intelligent solar station
Helios is an autonomous and sustainable solar charging station, powered by Arena solar flooring.
It can charge between 6 and 16 electric vehicles, including scooters, bicycles and kick scooters, in a simple and safe way.

Helios-G: grid-connected version
Helios-G is a hybrid station connected to the electricity grid, ideal for indoor locations or areas with low solar irradiation.
Available in versions for 4, 8, 12 and 16 vehicles, it keeps the same sustainable philosophy and includes:
- Intelligent anti-theft lock;
- IoT technology for remote monitoring and control;
- Modular units, allowing expansion according to operational needs.
